Kickboxing Curriculum

Recovery, Mobility and Strenth

Come build your mobility, stability and coordination from the ground up with JD. This class is designed to help you ease common aches and pains as well as bridge the gap between your day to day life and high intensity fitness. This will be achieved through a series of therapeutic postures, basic movment sequences and self-massage techniques that should help improve proprioception, reduce tension/chronic pain and gain functional strength/mobility.

Yoga

Join us as we move into stillness. Learn to balance, strengthen and strech the mind and body. Certified Yoga instructor, holistic nutritionist, and registered nurse Seetal Patel will guide you on this 8-week yoga journey! Drop-ins are welcome and yoga mats are not required.

Cardio Kickboxing Bootcamps

Hate boring pre-set workouts? No worries, this bootcamp lets you trick yourself into getting fit while in fact having a great time smashing stuff. Non-technical heavy bag and pad workouts using HIIT-style interval training. No sparring, beginner friendly. Over this eight week course you will build both your fitness and basic strikes.

Women’s Self-Defense

Instructed by coaches Kim and Celia, our Women’s Self-Defense course is offered in a safe and welcoming environment. The course focuses on how to be assertive, establish boundaries, and maintain awareness, in situations where you may feel unsafe. Methods for de-escalating conflict are taught as well as simple techniques that can be realistically implemented to defend yourself in a physical confrontation.

This class is offered every 3-6 months as a sequential 8-class course, be sure to check out our monthly calendar. It can also be offered on demand for a minimum of 10 participants.

Self-Defense Workshops

We offer self-defense workshops designed with input from RCMP, peace officers, educators, and healthcare providers. Our workshops give participants the means to keep themselves and members of the public safe in the event of a physical confrontation. They provide a systematic framework based on de-escalation and minimal use of force. Course material is applicable to diverse professional settings including healthcare, education, social work, law enforcement, corrections, first-response, and any other environment where de-escalation, self-defense, and safe restraint are relevant.
