Classes start with an overview of the workout including the class content, purpose, and methodology. Coaches will help you record relevant info in your training log to help you get the most from your training in the long term.
Next coaches will lead a RAMP warmup (a special warmup proven to prevent injury and facilitate enhanced performance). Don’t worry, these are actually really easy and our coaches love answering any questions you might have!
After the workout coaches will lead a debrief and help record training log info on what you did in the workout. There will also be optional mobility exercises and stretching.
Our goal is that you leave our workouts feeling refreshed and ready for the next part of your day. You may feel a bit tired, but exhaustion is not helpful or sustainable – we want to help you get the best results over the long term. Work smart, not hard, and stay healthy!
We have a relaxed atmosphere at our BJJ and kickboxing classes. We don’t enforce standard formalities like bowing to instructors, lining up by belt rank, or yielding mat space to more senior students. We do have some common-sense hygiene and safety rules, but you can basically treat our martial arts classes as you would any other fitness class.
